Welcome to Berthoud, Colorado, founded in the 1870's by the Colorado Central Rail Road Company. Berthoud began as a railroad town and expanded to be an agriculture fixture in Northern Colorado. Today, Berthoud's 10,800 residents continue to maintain the small town vibe.
Nestled just 50 miles north of Denver, Berthoud is nicknamed the "Garden Spot of Colorado". Beautiful mountain views, low crime rate, green pastures, and abundant parks make this quaint town appealing to new residents. Historic homes and American flags stand as symbols of this Northern Colorado community.
Berthoud is currently undergoing major redevelopment and improvement projects. In April 2008, the Mountain Avenue Project went into effect. This includes waterline replacements, sewer modifications and street repaving. Such improvements will only increase the standard of living in this community.
